The problem
The WordPress home page was heavy: on a throttled phone the largest element on the home page appeared after 13.6 seconds, with 111 requests and 4.4 MB behind it.
The idea
Leave WordPress behind and rebuild it as static Astro with self-hosted fonts and one animation clock, around a field report of the property instead of a template.
The outcome
The same home page in 334 KB across 10 requests, with the largest element painting at 2.2 seconds under the same test.
